Zomato has started grocery distribution in 80 Indian cities, against the backdrop of the coronavirus epidemic.
These services will help a lot of people struggling to get their essentials as they follow the government-announced 21-day lockdown to prevent the epidemic.
“It has already been launched in India and UAE and will remain in other markets over the next few days,” Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal said in a statement released by IANS.
The food delivery platform is set to launch its takeaway service in Portugal and Australia to support the restaurant.
Goyal also said that the proceeds from the Zomato Gold subscription would go towards assisting the needy restaurant staff and users would get another year of gold for free.

Zomoto has already extended a 2-month extension for Gold membership at no additional cost.
It can be availed by Zomaoto users in India, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Lebanon, Turkey, New Zealand, Portugal, and Qatar.
