Developed by United Nations Technology Innovation Labs (UNTIL), the 1point5 app helps you maintain social distance. The app scans for nearby mobile devices via Bluetooth and warns users when the device enters a 1.5-meter circumference. It works similarly to the Government of India’s own Arogya Setu App, which uses Bluetooth technology when you inadvertently come in contact with a COVID-19 positive person.

1point5 also lets you select the nature of the notification. You can turn sound and vibration on or off for proximity alerts. You can also set up the app to exclude devices from family members and the people you live with.

UNTIL states that 1point5 does not collect or store any personal data. Unlike the Arogya Setu App, this app does not aim to provide health information or health advice, but only serves as a social security reminder.
