West Bengal govt introduce software to keep track of employees working from home
The state government has also discouraged face-to-face meetings and stated that officials should communicate through the intercom, mobile phones, and video-conferencing.
A senior official said on Monday that the West Bengal government has brought software to monitor the performance of its employees working from home amidst the COVID-19 scenario.
He said that the state’s finance department is using the software on an experimental basis.
He said that state government employees should not violate office hours, thinking that it would not be known to anyone as they are at home.
“Employees have to log in to the software, software to keep track of employees which enables the department concerned to monitor their performance and office hours. We should ensure that work is not interrupted as they are at home,” said the official.
The West Bengal government said last week that only asymptomatic employees would be allowed to appear in the office on a rotation basis.
