The mixed reality headset Jio Glass was announced on Wednesday at the annual Reliance AGM 2020. The headset essentially pairs with your phone lets you conduct classes, make video calls, and host meetings in a 3D holographic environment. Jio Glass, a Tesseract subsidiary of Jio Platforms, has designed and is already compatible with, 25 mixed reality apps. The mixed reality headset has an ergonomic design and a camera in the front for comfortable use. It has a sleeve built-in sensor, which allows users to connect in immersive content.

Jio Glass is lightweight and weighs only 75 grams. It looks exactly like any normal pair of sunglasses initially but is thicker in some places for integrating sensors and necessary hardware. It essentially pairs with your smartphone and enhances compatible apps in the 3D augmented world. The specs come with support for spatial and directional XR sound systems that play all audio formats without a wired enclosure. As mentioned, the mixed reality headset comes with the compatibility of 25 mixed reality applications across genres such as entertainment, learning, gaming, shopping, and productivity. Jio did not unveil pricing and availability plans for Jio Glass at the AGM.

The headset features a high-resolution display, and the frame has vents for heat dissipation. The company claims that users can easily make calls using Jio Glass via voice commands such as “Hello Jio, please call XXX and YYYY”. Jio Glass enables users to make a holographic video call in which you can also share, discuss, and discuss. Projects and presentations on the big screen. It is also possible to enable 3D virtual avatars or even virtual interactions in a 2D way.
