Faizal Siddiqui’s Tiktok video has been accused of glorifying acid attacks on women.


Tiktok has suspended the account of popular creator Faisal Siddiqui after a video by Siddiqui faced widespread criticism and accusations of glorifying acid attacks on women. Faizal Siddiqui’s account can no longer be accessed at Tiktok. The video caught the eye of not only the National Commission for Women (NCW) but also many celebrities who called out Siddiqui. The controversy surrounding the video has led to hundreds of users leaving 1-star reviews for the app on the App Store.

To recall, Faizal Siddiqui’s video showed the Tiktok creator threatening a girl who dumped him for another boy. In response, Siddiqui threw some liquid on the girl’s face. The girl is shown with heavy make-up that many believe resembles acid attack scars.

1:  After the video went viral on various social media platforms, NCW took cognizance of the case and asked Tiktok India to immediately remove the video from the platform and block Faizal Siddiqui. The NCW, in a letter to the Maharashtra Police, asked for immediate action against the person responsible for making the video.


2:  After a dispute and call to remove the video, Tiktok suspended the creators an account and it is no longer accessible. TikTok video in question removed the manufacturer yesterday (May 18), and the company removed the duplicate during yesterday and today. “Keeping people safe on Tiktok is a top priority and we make it clear in our Term of Service and Community Guidelines that it clearly outlines what is not acceptable on our platform,” Tikotok said in a statement. “As per policy, we do not allow content that endangers the safety of others, promotes physical harm, or promotes violence against women. The behavior in question violates our guidelines and we have taken down the content, suspended the account, and are working appropriately with law enforcement agencies.


3: The TikTok app has seen a flood of 1-star reviews on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Hundreds of Android and iOS users in India are demanding a ban on the app and its removal from the App Store. Many of the 1-star reviews are also the result of a recent feud between another Tiktok producer and Faizal Siddiqui’s brother – Aamir Siddiqui – and YouTuber CarryMinati, which led to many followers of YouTuber disliking their dislike of the stage, leaving 1 -Star review to show.


4: Amid controversy, many notable celebrities also beat up Siddiqui over the ‘Depressed’ video. It includes actors Swara Bhaskar and Pooja Bhatt, Acid Attack Survivor Lakshmi Aggarwal, etc. #BanTikTokinIndia and many similar hashtags are trending on Twitter due to the controversy.


5: In a statement released on Instagram, Faizal Siddiqui defended the video and indicated that it had been misrepresented. The Tiktok producer also apologized. The producer said in the statement, “As a social media influencer, I realize my responsibility and apologize to anyone offended by the video.”
